how it STARTED
Founded by Christopher Caskey, a PhD climate scientist turned entrepreneur who wanted to solve a local environmental problem on Colorado’s western slope
Particular Tile creates handmade terracotta tiles out of red clay unique to the American West. Climate action and sustainable manufacturing are behind every single tile, using nuisance sediment clogging the Paonia Reservoir and working to capture methane from abandoned coal mines in the area to power kilns. Our tiles are one of a kind, and every installation we do tells its own story—when we take care of our planet, and each other, the result is something beautiful.
